BlackBerry Passport New Tech
BlackBerry's upcoming Q20 "Classic" has largely been occluded by the
company's pre-announcement of its weird, wild, and kind of wonderful BlackBerry Passport, a
total Hail-Mary pass of a phone that has a big 4.5-inch, square,
1,440-by-1,440 display and a full hardware keyboard
BlackBerry is focusing entirely on big-business
customers now, and the company says the Passport's screen will allow for
excellent document editing. The design also speaks to BlackBerry's core
business audience, which tends to be older—those folks have started leaning
towards bigger screens to aid their eyes, and still love hardware keyboards for
their precise, physical feedback. The Passport is also said to pack a quad-core
Qualcomm processor and a large 3,450mAh battery, the better to survive a long
day's worth of business-critical use.
